Rooted in the heart of Southwest Michigan, Indivisible Paw Paw is a chapter of the non-partisan national organization Indivisible.
Indivisible Paw Paw is a grassroots community of individuals, located in Van Buren County and the surrounding areas. We are united to protect and strengthen our democracy. We believe in building a just, inclusive, and representative government—one that truly reflects the voices of the people.
Through local action, civic engagement, and collective advocacy, we stand together against authoritarianism, to defend voting rights, and to hold our leaders accountable.
Our mission is clear: to create a future where democracy works for everyone—starting right here in the "Mitten" state.

International Workers' Day, or May Day, commemorates the fight for an eight-hour workday. Known as the Haymarket Affair began when hundreds of thousands of U. S. workers on May 1, 1886, staged a general strike for an 8-hour workday. Violence escalated in Chicago on May 3, and a fatal bombing occurred on May 4, resulting in a controversial trial and the hanging of four activists.
May 1 has become a symbol of global worker solidarity. It's a national holiday in many countries, recognized by parades and protests defending workers' rights to fair wages, decent work conditions, and the right to organize. The U.S. officially celebrates Labor Day on the first Monday in September, a move promoted to break ties with the origins of May 1.
Indivisible Paw Paw will join activists from Kalamazoo and Battle Creek for “Workers Over Billionaires” at Rep. Huizenga’s Portage office to mark this historic day. Later that same day, IPP will host its May Day event at the four corners in Paw Paw. Join us in reclaiming our power from corporate elites, corrupt politicians, and their billionaire backers!
